 What is Bio-based Microfiber Leather?

Bio-based Material

Wholly or partially derived from biomass, such as corn sugar cane or cellulose, derivatives that replace fossil sources. Bio-based microfiber has all the characteristics of traditional microfiber leather, wear-resistant and folding resistance excellent physical properties, realize personalized customization and digital traceability of bio-based content, and provide more efficient carbon footprint reduction solutions and environmentally friendly product concepts for brand client.

Renewable raw materials

Bio-based microfiber leather mainly uses renewable biomass resources as raw materials, which reduces dependence on non-renewable resources such as petroleum and greatly reduces the consumption of limited resources.

 

Biodegradable

After being discarded, some bio-based microfiber leathers can be decomposed by microorganisms under certain conditions and return to the natural environment, reducing the accumulation of solid waste and complying with environmental protection concepts.

   

Breathability

It imitates the microstructure of natural leather, and there are many tiny pores inside the material, which allow air and water vapor to pass freely. When wearing clothes made of it or using related products, it can keep the skin dry and comfortable, and reduce the feeling of stuffiness and humidity.

 

Easy to process

According to different application needs, adjusting the formula and production process enables making products with various thicknesses, hardness, colors, and surface textures. It can mimic natural leather's look and feel like cowhide and sheepskin textures, or create unique appearances to meet diverse design demands.
